Grignon Mansion in Kaukauna

The Mansion was built by Charles A. Grignon as a wedding gift for his Pennsylvanian wife, Mary Elizabeth Meade, in 1837. It became known as "The Mansion in the Woods" It is popular place for tours, car shows, cross country running. Charles Grignon acted as an interpreter for the U.S. government at the Treaty of the Cedars, which transferred four million acres of Menominee land to the U. S. Government for European and Euro-American immigration.
